The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office has obtained warrants for a Jefferson man who led deputies on an extended, high speed chase near Statham. Joshua Lee Nix, 23, of 1001 B Whitfield Road in Jefferson, is facing multiple charges stemming from the Feb. 5 incident. Statham fire ruled arson

A Feb. 10 fire which destroyed a Statham trailer has been ruled arson. The doublewide trailer, located at 65 Jefferson Road, had been previously damaged by fire on Jan. 25. The family of a missing Athens woman is asking for help in locating a mentally ill family member. Patricia Danielle Scott, 22, was last seen on Friday, Feb. 12 as she left the Country Corners subdivision on Hwy. 29. Security cameras captured the woman leaving the area on foot.
