More burglaries in Statham

After two burglaries the previous week, Statham Police were called to investigate an additional three burglaries during the past week. On Jan. 31, a burglary was reported at a residence on McCarty Road. A witness reported seeing a U-Haul type truck parked at an empty residence. By the time officers arrived, the vehicle was gone. A Winder man was arrested after moving a car further than the owner intended. Donnie Ray Bevers, 30, of 475 Cedar Ridge Drive in Winder, asked for the keys to a woman’s vehicle so that he could move it out of the way of another vehicle at the residence. An Auburn woman called police after discovering that her new job was a scam. The woman had recently been hired as a mail manager with a company named Best Concierge.
