A man was transported to the hospital last Thursday after falling into a water tank at the Winder water treatment plant. Emergency services personnel were dispatched to 780 Gainesville Highway just before 10 a.m. on March 25. An overwhelming number of respondents to last week’s Barrow Journal poll indicated opposition to the recently passed health care legislation. Bus driver accused of soliciting teen for sex

A former Barrow County School system bus driver who was terminated last week for “inappropriate contact” with a student has been accused of soliciting sex from a 16-year-old student. An Auburn man has been arrested in connection with a Tuesday morning trailer fire. Just before 4 a.m. on March 30, a trailer fire was reported at 64 Main Street in Auburn. The Barrow County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday night to name Rose K. Kisaalita of Athens as the county’s new Chief Financial Officer.
