The Madison County baseball team has already bounced back once this season and will have to do it again now. The Red Raiders (3-5, 0-2), who had rallied from an 0-3 start with three-straight wins, were beaten 11-4 by Loganville in Monday’s Region 8-AAAA opener and by Salem 4-3 Tuesday, dropping it to 0-2 in league play. Before the rain moved in last week, the Commerce Tiger golf team managed to get one round on the links as the boys played Oglethorpe at Jennings Mill. It was a big win for the Banks County Leopards’ boys tennis team, as they picked up a subregion win over East Jackson on Monday. Cortney Boggs led Madison County to a 92-128 victory over North Oconee Monday with a 41 and possibly recorded a historic round in the process. The Banks County track and field team is scheduled to head to Rabun County on Thursday, weather permitting, to face Rabun, Habersham and Walhalla.
