An Auburn woman called police to report that she was being harassed by her ex-husband. The woman called police after her boyfriend heard someone knocking on their door early in the morning. An officer running radar on Miles Patrick Road stopped a green Chevrolet Camaro after determining the vehicle was traveling 47 mph in a 35 mph zone. A Winder woman was jailed after causing an accident on Highway 8. Stephanie Denise Lowery, 42, of 139 Northridge Drive in Winder, was attempting to cross Highway 8 when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic. A recent BarrowJournal.com poll asked respondents how they would deal with the county’s ongoing budget crisis. A majority of poll participants, over 37 percent, indicated support for increasing taxes.
