WPD responds to lawsuit

The City of Winder and the Winder Police Department have filed a formal response to the charges laid out in the March 10 lawsuit filed by Dana Billings on behalf of her mother and minor child. Former Barrow County Schools bus driver Gregory Brock contacted the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office just days before his arrest for solicitation of sodomy to complain that his wife refused to allow him to visit his child. A Hoschton man has been sentenced for his part in a stock market scheme that targeted foreign investors. Patrick J. Soltis, 47, of Hoschton, and John A. A Barrow County jury has convicted a Bethlehem man of aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation and cruelty to children in the first degree. An Auburn man was arrested after he and his hunting partner wandered into the wrong back yard. A deputy was dispatched to an Old Hog Mountain Road residence after the homeowner called and said he had two people at gunpoint.
