A Bowman man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to three years confinement on a drug charge. Willie Lee Maxwell, 48, Bowman, was sentenced to three years confinement, seven years probation and fined $790 for possession of cocaine. A Winder woman called police after her husband’s girlfriend refused to leave a Hickeria Way residence. The woman said her husband’s girlfriend was intoxicated and had been on the back porch. The Banks County golf teams are sending one golfer through to the state round. Cara Gowder was the low medalist in the girls’ 8-AA region tournament on Monday shooting an 86. Auburn Police were called to an area store after an employee discovered five checks from the same account had been returned for insufficient funds.
