A Winder woman has been arrested in connection with a March 10 accident which injured a Winder Barrow High School student as he crossed the road to board his bus. Sarah Baldwin Cobb, 34, of 169 Woodlawn Avenue, was arrested March 29 and charged with causing serious injury by vehicle and passing a school bus while loading or unloading. The ... [Full Story »]

A business owner told Braselton police that a former employee stole items from her store, but that employee said most of the items belonged to him, according to an incident report. Banks and Jackson emergency medical personnel responded to an accident on Hwy. 59 near Tractor Supply Company Wednesday morning in which a pickup truck struck a motorcycle. A Winder woman is dead after an April 6 accident on Hwy. 11 near Lamar Giles Road. The woman, identified by the Georgia State Patrol as Mary Linda Brendle, 39, was northbound in the 700 block of Jefferson Highway when her vehicle left the roadway, careened down an embankment and struck a brick sign. Planners approve go cart request in 4-1 vote

Hull Fire Dept. to get new truck

The Hull Volunteer Fire Department will soon get a new fire truck. The department is seeking a 2009 model truck that features a six-person cab and a 1,500-gallon-per-minute pump, which is larger that any of the department’s current truck pumps.
