Food distribution scheduled for May 27

The Barrow County Mobile Food Pantry, in partnership with The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, will be at Holly Hill Mall distributing food to those in need on Thursday, May 27, from 9 a.m. until all food has been distributed. This community outreach is open to all residents of Barrow County.

Statham expects to break even with its proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2010-2011. In all, the city is expecting $2,161,728 in revenue and the same amount in expenses. An 82-year-old woman escaped injury when her home was firebombed earlier this week. Eldonia Watson, a wheelchair bound great-great-grandmother, was asleep inside her Winder home when someone threw a flaming Molotov cocktail onto her front porch. Auburn man charged with manufacturing meth

An Auburn man is facing numerous charges after a dispute with his former roommate led to the discovery of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation. Dear Editor: While the article “Writing tests results mixed” (May 12 edition) indicated the test results were up and down, overall the scores were worse by an average of 2.4%. BOE continues to iron out budget details
