GSP investigating fatal wreck

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal accident which occurred Sunday morning on Highway 316 at its intersection with Hwy. 53. The male driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident was killed. No one else was seriously injured. The two vehicle accident resulted in the temporary closure of all lanes of Hwy. 316.

Colbert doesn’t plan to host Stephen Colbert

County business damaged in fire

The H.W. Wilson Company in the Dry Pond community of Jackson County was heavily damaged in a fire Saturday night. No one was injured in the fire at the chemical plant and further details have not been released yet.

McNeely resigns from Maysville council

Maysville City Council member Rebecca McNeely submitted a resignation letter to the city Monday afternoon. The act follows months of controversy surrounding her whereabouts at meetings and the possible misuse of city funds.
