CHS graduation tests well above state average

The percentage of first-time test-takers passing the state-mandated high school graduation tests increased in two areas, fell in a third and stayed the same in a fourth at Commerce High School. Jackson jobless rate falls slightly

Not only did Georgia’s unemployment rate fall from March to April, but so did the jobless rates in Jackson and six surrounding counties. According to the Georgia Department of Labor, the jobless rate for April was 9.8 statewide, down from 10.4 percent in March. The Commerce Police Department is investigating the death of a 23-year-old Hood Street man who never awakened following a party the night before.
