The Barrow County Board of Education approved the hiring of two assistant principals Tuesday night following a brief closed door session. A Winder man was transported to Athens Regional Hospital after being stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife. According to a witness, the victim attempted to break up a fight between David James Griffin, 21, of 189 Wood Avenue in Winder, and another man.
