Lightning strikes Barrow home

Barrow County firefighters responded to several fires over the weekend including one caused by a lightning strike. Firefighters were dispatched to a Commons Road residence just before 9 p.m. on June 25. First arriving firefighters found light smoke in the residence. Drunk, sleeping woman found near car

An apparently drunk woman was found trying to sleep next to her vehicle in a grocery store parking lot, according to Braselton police. The 39-year-old Dacula woman was found laying next to her vehicle in the Publix shopping center on Ga. Hwy. 211, according to an incident report. The vehicle’s door was open and its lights turned on. Council approves funds for sewer plant upgrades
