Auburn’s Boy Scout Troop 774 has been named the “Chattahoochee District Troop of the Year.” The award was announced during a May 20 banquet honoring outstanding accomplishments among Scout groups in Georgia’s Chattahoochee District. Boot drive collects over $18,200

Commerce Aquatic Center Now Open

The Commerce Aquatic Center will be the site of several programs and events for the Commerce Parks and Recreation department over the summer. A recent BarrowJournal.com poll asked if respondents supported proposed plans to create low to moderate income housing in the Granite Hotel. Over 32 percent of respondents indicated they did not believe such housing was appropriate for the building.
