Winder man logs sixth arrest in two years for domestic violence

A Winder man has been jailed for the sixth time in two years on domestic violence charges. Nicholas Paul Fortner, 30, of 836 Hwy. 211 in Winder, is accused of entering his ex-girlfriend’s house on June 6 and attacking her. Because of the continuing decline in property values, the Barrow County Tax Assessors Office for the second year in a row has conducted a countywide reassessment. A Bethlehem woman was assaulted by her boyfriend after a minor disagreement. The woman said she and Tracy Edward Johnson, 38, of 3230 Snows Mill Road in Monroe, had taken her two daughters to her grandmother’s house to go swimming.
