Barrow County GOP BBQ set for Aug. 21

The Barrow County Republican Party will hold its 17th annual BBQ on Saturday, August 21 at the Winder Lions Club. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7.50 for children ages 6-12. The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning announced August 5, 2010 that three additional pre-k classes will be funded in Barrow County Schools this school year. The Auburn City Council held its first forum on its proposed Fiscal Year 2011 budget Tuesday night, which is down almost 6 percent from last year. The $3.3 million in the proposed general fund is down $197,514 from FY2010 with cuts coming from 13 of 18 departments.
