Colbert couple charged with growing marijuana

A Colbert couple was arrested recently after a Governor’s Task Force helicopter spotted several patches of marijuana growing just south of Danielsville. Calvin Lloyd Senclair, 47, and Mary Ellen Senclair, 51, both of 192 Christmas Circle, were each charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance. ... Commissioner calls for lift on furlough days

The City of Jefferson ended 2009 in the black, according to the town’s recently released audit. According to the audit, Jefferson netted $761,000 in its General Fund on the year, pushing its reserve funds to over $2.8 million.
