Two burglars are behind bars after being arrested by Statham Police last week. Shaka Denard Bolton , 21, of 1678 Doc McLocklin Road in Statham, was charged with burglary after he was caught with stolen merchandise. An Auburn man was arrested last week for driving on a suspended license after being spotted by an alert officer. The officer recognized Peter Hoover, 54, of 324 Goldenrod Lane in Auburn, from previous encounters and knew the man did not have a valid license. The Georgia Department of Banking and Finance took possession of The Peoples Bank, Winder, Friday evening. Through an agreement with the FDIC, The Peoples Bank will be acquired by Community & Southern Bank, Carrollton. It was one of five banks to fail in Georgia this week.
