After being in operation for about a decade, Pro Swing Golf in Commerce closed its doors in 2003, but a new owner now hopes to reopen the facility. Shoplifters target two pharmacies

Two local pharmacies were apparently targeted by the same pair of shoplifters last week, according to the Commerce Police Department. Last Thursday afternoon, an officer responded to CVS Pharmacy, North Elm Street, where an employee said a black male and black female entered the store and she observed the woman putting a bottle of pain ... Man gets away with stolen steaks

A shoplifter apparently got away from a grocery store with $20 in steaks, according to the Braselton Police Department. A manager at Publix on Spout Springs Road said employees didn’t actually see the suspect steal the steak, but he later ran away from employees, according to an incident report. Area woman seeks help after another round of cancer

Jenny Baird is trying to stay positive. The 33-year-old Braselton resident was told in March of 2010 that she was a cancer survivor, only to find out three months later in June that the cancer was back. “(The doctors) thought they had got it all,” Baird said. “You never know if it’s gone.” Baird was first diagnosed with breast cancer ...
