A Statham man had a difficult time explaining to authorities what caused an injury to his head. A man formerly listed as a suspect in a roofing scam has been cleared of charges. Todd MacIver, formerly of Southern Roofing and Restoration Inc., had previously been identified as the man to whom a Bethlehem homeowner paid a $3,871.56 deposit for a roofing job that was never completed. One patient was transported to an area hospital after a Sept. 24 accident on Loganville Highway at Tom Miller Road. Winder library to offer 'Spanish Story Time'

The Winder Library will present “Spanish Story Time” beginning Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. The event will include stories and activities for English and Spanish speaking children. Spanish Story Time will be offered the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The Winder Library is located at189 Bell View St. in Winder.

Girl Scouts help area children in need
