The death of an 18-month-old Barrow County child is under investigation. Russell Charles Chapman was admitted to the Henry County Medical Center on Sept. 27. He died six days later. Maj. A Winder man became enraged when he learned his wife had visited one of their neighbors. According to the wife, Jonathan Keith Asel, 42, of 2025 Emerald Pointe Drive in Winder, began punching the bedroom walls when he realized she had been at the neighbor’s house. The trial of a pastor accused of burning down his church has been delayed. The trial of Quincy Arnold, former pastor of New Life Deliverance Church, was set to begin on Monday, Oct. 4. Firefighters with Barrow County Emergency Services are currently at the scene of a large mulch fire at a recycling center on Barrow Industrial Parkway. Barrow County Emergency Services public information officer Lt. Scott Dakin said approximately 38,000 cubic yards of mulch is burning. Smoke from the blaze is visible from Hwy. 316, he said. ... Control of mulch fire which Barrow County Emergency Services personnel battled for much of the day has been turned over to recycling center personnel.
