Jackson County voters approved another round of Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), according to Tuesday’s election results. Man sentenced to eight years for battery

A Hull man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to eight years confinement for aggravated battery. John William Baxter, 36, Morningside Mobile Home Park Lot 12, Hull, was also sentenced to 12 years probation for aggravated battery and one year probation for simple battery. A bandana-wearing man running to a jewelry store caught the attention of an employee and Braselton police, according to an incident report. The owner of Gold and Diamond Buyers on Ga.
