An Elberton man and a Hull woman have been arrested for an armed robbery in which a Jefferson convenience store clerk was tied with duct tape, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. Madison County building permits and fees are significantly down in 2010. According to figures from the county building inspections office, Madison County has collected $40,463 in fees through 10 months this year, which means the county is on pace to collect $48,500 in 2010, down from $70,389 last year and $174,399 in 2006.
