Two blood drives will be held today to help the Hospitals in Georgia that are in need of donations. The firs drive will be held at the Publix on Loganville Highway from 11 am - 3 pm. The Winder-Barrow Community Theatre recently presented a $100 check to the Barrow County Museum as part of the theatre group’s ongoing program of donating a part of the ticket sales of each play to a local nonprofit group. Officers from the Winder Police Department were dispatched to Barrow Regional Hospital Dec. 14, where a man claims he was assaulted. Upon arrival officers noticed dried blood on the victims clothes and mouth. The victim also had a swollen eye and a cut underneath. Barrow unemployment rate jumps for Nov.

After having fallen into single digit territory in October, Barrow County’s unemployment rate shot up in November to 10.2 percent.
