The Banks County Senior Citizen’s Center is seeking donations to provide home-delivered meals to seniors during the holiday season. The cost for providing meals is as follows: $3.45 for one day; $17.25 for one week; $75.90 for one month; $894.96 for one year. All donations are tax deductible. Man gets probation for cruelty to animals

A 23-year-old Maysville man was sentenced recently in Madison County Superior Court to one year probation for cruelty to animals. Joshua Allen Angles, 199 Russ Rumsey Road, Maysville, was also fined $472. A charge of failure to appear was dismissed. Alcohol sales on holiday raises questions

A package store owner said another store in Braselton was illegally open and selling alcohol on Thanksgiving, according to an incident report. An owner of Cork and Keg on Ga. A second chance: kitten now has loving home

In late September, a small kitten was brought to Winder Animal Hospital after being thrown from a moving vehicle. Her face was bloodied and bruised, and she was missing many of her baby teeth. A table filled with toys stood outside a Banks Crossing store early Friday morning as Jackson County public safety workers collected items for needy children in the area.
