Medical-related calls keep West Jackson firefighters busy

The West Jackson Fire Department responded to a number of medical calls in the area last week, according to incident reports. Man drowns at Fort Yargo

A 55-year-old man drowned on the lake at Fort Yargo state park on Saturday. The man was fishing in a small boat when it capsized causing him to fall into the water. Empty Stocking drive begins this weekend

The Winder Fire Deartment and The Barrow County Emergency Service teams are holding their annual Empty Stocking Toy drive again this holiday season. On Nov. 22, Barrow County Sheriff officers responded to a residence on Worth Court in response to shots fired in the area. Upon arrival officers met with three women who claim they heard multiple shots in the area.
