Last month the Winder Police Department was awarded a major safety H.E.A.T. grant totaling $20,200 from the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The Georgia Piedmont Arts Center, Auburn, is inviting artists of all skill levels to participate in a gallery exhibition, “Shades of White.” The show will run Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 22-23. A 16-yearold male juvenile was robbed at gunpoint Jan. 1 by two suspects who picked him up and told him they would give him a ride.
