Jackson County voters overwhelmingly voted in favor of renewing the education local option sales tax (ELOST) Tuesday. The referendum passed in a 1,305-569 vote with 70 percent of the voters casting a ballot in favor of the one-cent sales tax. A road rage incident on Interstate 85 led to one of two men being arrested, according to Braselton and Gwinnett County police. A Hoschton man said he was driving on the interstate near Hamilton Mill when he got behind another vehicle, which then braked without reason, according to Gwinnett police.
