Local trucking branch closes doors

There was more bad economic news for Barrow County after a local trucking company announced it would be closing its doors in Auburn and cutting 102 local jobs. The son of a former Barrow County pastor indicted in 2009 for conspiring with his father to set fire to a church had a motion hearing continued Wednesday because his attorney was in court in another county. For the second time in a month, a Barrow elementary school student has gotten into trouble for bringing an Airsoft gun to school. This time, a Bethlehem Elementary School student brought an Airsoft gun onto a bus, where it accidentally went off, with a small plastic pellet striking another student in the face. A man with outstanding warrants was arrested last week by Auburn Police after he fell asleep in a church parking lot.
