New Commerce tiger football coach Marvin Justice has promised that the Tigers will throw more in the 2011 season. Justice will get to throw some himself this Saturday. A big win for the Banks County baseball team Tuesday night moved the boys to 5-1 in region standings, 5-3 overall. After being delayed by inclement weather last week, racers at the Atlanta Dragway opened their 2011 season with near perfect conditions Saturday. Jefferson’s Jody Blalock brought his fast and unique 1947 Hudson out to the Commerce quarter mile, and succeeded in turning on the final round win light in Pro class against Randall Roop of Canton. ... The recent success enjoyed by the Apalachee High School boys soccer team continued last week as the Wildcats downed Loganville 3-2 at R. Harold Harrison Stadium.
