Soccer teams take three tough losses

Banks County’s soccer teams have hit a rough patch in the season as the teams fell to Dawson, Fannin and Lakeview Academy during the last week of play. The Commerce High School tennis teams fell last week to Towns County but beat Woody Gap. Both teams will return to the courts next Tuesday, as they travel to Towns County for a 4:30 rematch with the Indians. Wet weather derailed plans for most of the week for East Jackson’s golf teams, causing a match last Wednesday to be rained out. It was a mixed bag of results for the East Jackson track teams, as they traveled to Loganville Saturday to take part in the Running With The Devils meet. The girls placed 10th and the boys ninth. After a rough start that resulted in a loss to Hebron, the Diamond Tigers of Commerce bounced back to pick up wins over Lakeview Academy, Social Circle and Riverside last week, leaving them 4-1 in the region and 5-1 overall. The East Jackson soccer teams saw success last week, with the girls sweeping Elbert County and Oglethorpe while the boys bested the Blue Devils but fell to the Patriots.
