‘AdDress a Need’ sale set for Friday, Saturday

Friends of Advantage will hold a benefit dress sale Friday and Saturday, March 4-5, in the Cypress Room of the Classic Center in Athens. Jackson County (1-3, 1-1) downed Oglethorpe County 3-1 Wednesday on the road for its first win of the year and in sub-region play. The Panthers had five hits. Austin Robinson picked up the win for Jackson County, throwing seven innings.

Golf: JCCHS boys break school record

The Jackson County boys’ golf team (2-0) broke the school scoring record in only its second match of the season. After only six weeks as Winder’s interim police chief, Dennis Dorsey on March 8 will move into the permanent post. City administrator Don Toms announced the promotion in a March 3 press release.
