A two-year-old Auburn girl was killed earlier Wednesday after being hit by a car in the driveway of a private residence. Gwinnett County Police report that the child was hit when a car pulled into the driveway. She was put into a car to be taken to a hospital, and met Gwinnett County EMS and police in Dacula. Barrow gets OK for charter system status

The Barrow County School System has been granted charter system status by the Georgia Board of Education. The board voted Wednesday afternoon to approve Barrow's plan. The Barrow County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday adopted a resolution establishing a “Charter Review Committee” that will have 7-8 weeks to study Barrow County’s form of government and to recommend whether it should be changed.
