Smoke in B hall causes JCCHS evacuation Thursday morning

Area fire departments responded in full force Thursday morning after smoke filled the B hall at Jackson County Comprehensive High School. The cause turned out to be an AC until belt, officials said. Students were evacuated from the building at around 9 a.m. Thursday.

The Winder-Barrow High School baseball team closed out the regular season with another convincing victory Wednesday afternoon. The Diamond Doggs defeated Apalachee 15-3 in five innings to improve to 8-5 overall and 14-1 in Region 8-AAAA. Travis Demeritte improved to 4-0 earning the win in relief.
