For the first time in its budget discussions for FY2011-2012, the Barrow County Board of Education this week seriously discussed a possible tax hike. Town of Carl gets first police officer

Carl Mayor David Brock swore in the town’s first police officer Thursday, April 21, at a town council meeting. Officer Terry Raber, 61, was specially appointed by Governor Nathan Deal on the recommendation of Brock, the town council and Rep. Terry England (R-Auburn).
