Suspicious house fire in Nicholson

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious fire Tuesday afternoon in Nicholson. Barrow County School Superintendent Wanda Creel announced Tuesday that due to Monday night’s stormy weather, students will complete their CRCT testing next week. A Commerce man could wind up in jail after allegedly violating a court order while awaiting trial in federal court. The Associated Press reports that federal prosecutors in New York have asked a judge to put Kerry Haggard in jail.
