A Jackson County man has been charged with two felony sexual predator counts after allegedly chatting online with an undercover agent posing as an underage girl, authorities announced this week. MCHS teacher found dead Friday

A Madison County teacher was found deceased this morning by law enforcement. Tammi Barker, a long-time business education teacher, died today. The Elbert County resident has a husband and two children. A cause of death has not been released. A Barrow County deputy has resigned over comments he made on his Facebook page and over comments he allegedly made to others within the department. Winning state medals is nothing new for Amanda Cope. The Winder-Barrow High School distance runner placed sixth in the 1,600-meter run last week in Albany for Class AAAA. BOE continues work on FY2012 budget; large funding gap looms

With its June deadline looming, the Barrow County Board of Education continued working this week on what looks to be a very difficult FY2012 budget.
