Charter review committee to meet Tuesday for public hearing

The Barrow County government Charter Review Committee will hold its first public hearing Tuesday night in Auburn. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at Auburn City Hall and is designed for public input. County digest takes a dive

Madison County’s overall property value is expected to dip nine to 10 percent this year. That means local governments can expect less revenue off local property taxes — unless they raise tax rates to offset the drop. Eagles Punish Panthers

The East Jackson baseball Eagles closed out their 2011 campaign last week with a win over in-county rival Jackson County. They fell to the Patriots of Oglethorpe County in their season finale. One Lady Tiger State Bound

The Commerce Lady Tigers’ track team will send one athlete to the girls’ state meet May 12-14 in Albany. Lily Mather was the region champion in the high jump. Daglis to kick collegiately
