Auburn council looks at approving Taser purchase

The Auburn Police Department may soon be sporting Tasers. At a meeting Thursday night, the Auburn City Council heard Police Chief Paul Nadeau present information on the purchase of Tasers to be funded out of the department’s narcotic/seizure fund. A motorcycle accident on Atlanta Highway at 6:18 a.m. Monday morning in Auburn left one person dead, Auburn Police Department officials said. Matthew Lewis Sell, 41, Auburn, died at the scene after being hit by a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Tonyia Christian, 43, Duluth. Christian was traveling east on Ga. Athens man arrested after fight on Sandy Springs Road

An Athens man was arrested recently after he allegedly got drunk and rode a scooter to his cousin’s Sandy Springs Road home uninvited to start a fight.
