The City of Winder Police Department is looking for any information in connection to an armed robbery that occurred just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at the KFC restaurant located at 180 W. At 11:15 a.m. Friday in downtown Statham, a CSX train slammed into a loaded 18-wheeler flat-bed truck carrying antique cars, according to Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith. Auburn ends FY2010 in the red

The Auburn city government’s general fund was in the red nearly $900,000 at the end of FY2010, owing mostly to a large drop in city revenues. It is the third year in a row that the city’s general fund has seen red ink. In FY2009, the city was $630,000 in the red and in FY2008 it was $746,500 in the red.
