Auburn DDA receives FY2011-12 approved budget

The City of Auburn's Downtown Development Authority (DDA) received its fiscal year 2011-12 approved operating budget at a business meeting May 25 at city hall. Commerce students fall short on grad test

City of Commerce 11th Graders had only a 71.1 percent passing rate on all four sections of the state graduation test this year, raking the school system 94th in the state. Statham man arrested for raping child

A Statham man was charged last week for allegedly raping a 13-year-old special needs girl after plying her with beer and drugs. William Carlton Bennett, 36, Statham, was charged with cruelty to children in the first degree, child molestation, aggravated child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
