Winder firefighters battle two accidental Wednesday blazes

The City of Winder Fire Department battled two house fires on Wednesday, July 20, both of which were ruled accidental. No one was injured. For the second time in less than two years, Barrow County is losing its elections supervisor. Katie Ferm, who has been in the post since March 2010, submitted her resignation Monday and said she is leaving for personal reasons. Her final day is July 29. An Auburn man opposed to fluoride in tap water said he took the mayor’s advice on July 7 and went one step higher. An Auburn man was arrested Monday, July 18 after authorities tied him to a rash of entering auto reports. Charged was Devon D. The Statham Police Department recently released a report of two runaway juveniles from the city of Statham.
