Officers of the Commerce Police Department enjoyed a second consecutive quiet week, making only two non-traffic arrests and investigating just four other cases. Jackson County’s net tax digest is expected to fall 3.7 percent this year, less of a drop than many officials had expected. An illegal immigrant has been charged with child molestation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, according to an incident report. A woman told deputies that her husband, Nestor De Los Santos, 28, of Hoschton, and his brother were acting strangely.
