Long-time Jefferson physician Dr. John T. Crenshaw passed away Thursday, Aug. 18. Crenshaw practiced medicine for over 40 years, most of those years in Jefferson. No arrangements have been announced.

The trees around the old Jackson County Courthouse began coming down Wednesday. The move was recommended by an advisory committee and approved by the Jackson County Board of Commissioners.
