Forty eight foreclosures are being advertised for foreclosure in September in this week’s Journal. That’s up from 22 advertised for the August sale date and brings the total of advertised foreclosures in Madison County for 2011 to 275. Danielsville hires new police chief

The city of Danielsville has a new police chief. The city council voted 3-2 Aug. 8 to hire current Madison County Sheriff’s deputy Matt Pilkington for the full-time (42-hour) position at $16.50 per hour for a 120-day probationary period. An 18-year old male was arrested recently after he allegedly forced a juvenile female to have sex with him. Joshua Bobby Morton, 18, 247 Grady Drive Lot 11, Hull, was charged with rape, child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.
