Most of North Georgia, including Jackson County, is under a tornado watch until 11 p.m. tonight, according to the county's E911 center. As storms approach the area, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected.
A 12-year-old Douglasville boy was killed Friday night in a wreck on I-85 near Commerce. The boy died after being thrown from a SUV driven by his a family member, according to reports. A tire reportedly reportedly blew out and the vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic and hit a guard rail. The boy wasn't wearing a seat belt.
