A Madison County woman was killed in a car wreck in Clarke County early Tuesday morning. Ila council approves tax rate, budget

The Ila City Council approved its 2011 millage rate and 2012 budget at the September meeting. The budget includes a $2 increase in water rate fees, with a base rate of $20, and an increase in garbage collection to $14.50 (citizens currently pay $13.65). County water system usage reaches all-time high

Madison County water system’s water usage hit an all-time high last month. Utility director Steve Shaw told the industrial development authority Sept. 19 that the county billed 759 customers for a total of 8.3 million gallons used in August.
