Unemployment rate in county rises slightly

The unemployment rate in Jackson County rose slightly in August, according to preliminary unadjusted data released by the Georgia Department of Labor on Thursday. Abandoned house destroyed by fire

An abandoned house on Davenport Road in Braselton was completed destroyed by fire on Sunday evening, according to officials.
