The Barrow County Board of Commissioners Tuesday night approved a new policy that, effective immediately, only county employees who are officially on call are allowed to drive county vehicles home. Though the magistrate judge received no immediate help Tuesday, the Barrow County Board of Commissioners did add another $6,000 to the current year’s budget for the Barrow County Juvenile Court. Winder to fix flooding problem on Lee St.

The Winder City Council on Tuesday approved the expenditure of $87,215 to fix a flooding problem on Lee Street. The contractor, Omshiv Construction LLC, will replace two culverts – one metal and the other concrete – with three new culverts. The project also will include sidewalk improvements.
