Judge rules in favor of WPD in lawsuit

A Federal Court Judge has ruled in favor of the Winder Police Department in a $1 million Fourth Amendment lawsuit filed on behalf of a juvenile and his grandmother in March of 2010. Barrow County Superior Court Judge Currie Mingledorff has recused himself from hearing the appeal of the Barrow County Board of Elections’ recent affirmation of the city residency of Winder City Councilman Charlie F. Some Barrow County officials have been avoiding an apparent county rule on spending by having vendors break down bills into smaller invoices to avoid the spending cap. Airport authority discusses noise complaints

A Barrow County male and female, both 24 years old, were taken into custody after they led police on a chase through Barrow, Oconee, Clarke and Jackson counties Sunday afternoon.
